We’re looking for a Storyboard Artist to bring the scripts to life, and prepare the visual storytelling that the animators will follow throughout the series. You’d be working on a variety of series that Relish is involved with!

Who are you?

You’ve got something special you want to bring to the team, and you’re ready to join a squad that will nurture it and help you bring it to life. You’re a thinker, a doer, a dreamer, and a maker:

• You’ve got at least 2 years-experience on storyboarding for animation or audio-visual production
• You’ve a strong portfolio containing past professional work that displays a good knowledge of visual storytelling, sequential drawing and draftsmanship
• You’re a power user of Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, and learn new software quickly
• You’re a team player that’s views feedback as an opportunity to learn, improve, and level-up every story
• You’ve got a proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding deadlines, while providing a high-quality of work
• You’re a CR resident (Pura Vida!), and willing to work from our studio when it’s safe to do so

Wait, what? That’s me! Tell me more. What would my day as a Storyboard Artist at Relish would look like?

You’ll combine great draftsmanship, attention to detail, flexibility to work on a variety of styles, and a strong understanding of compositional and storytelling skills. Collaborating with our teams on Vancouver Island and Costa Rica, you will bring the scripts to life and prepare the visual storytelling that the animators will follow throughout the series.

• You’ll interpret the scripts to represent them visually, conveying all necessary visual information for the layout and animation teams
• You’ll reproduce and maintain the proportions of the different assets according to the official designs on the project
• You’ll work closely with the Director, Art Director and Storyboard Supervisor in finding creative solutions to the script needs
• You’ll adapt to tools specific to the production
• You’ll communicate with various departments for required assets and input, and participate in production meetings as required
