Job Description

BLINK INDUSTRIES is an Emmy-winning and BAFTA-nominated development and production studio based in London. We specialize in bringing an inventive, mixed-media approach to our slate of Comedy and Family projects and we’re passionate about developing ideas that look and feel like no other.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic Scene Build Artists starting as soon as possible, to join our team on an exciting new 2D/CG mixed media TV series project that we’re bringing to life at our North-London based studio.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Good understanding of camera work, staging, timing, perspective, scale, composition and continuity
  • Understanding of both 2D & CG Animation Pipelines
  • Positive attitude to approaching challenges and proactive troubleshooting skills
  • Capable of juggling multiple priorities and adaptable to changing processes
  • Meticulous nature and robust attention to detail in checking your own work before submission
  • Passion and aptitude for keeping things organised; patience with repetitive / admin adjacent tasks
  • Knowledge of / experience working with ToonBoom Harmony
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to take feedback constructively
  • Previous experience working on an animated TV Series in Scene Build or similar Asset related department an advantage
  • Experience with tracking software an advantage, in particular Shotgrid.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • Set up ToonBoom Harmony scene files with all assets for animation, including animatic reference, audio, CG layout, 2D characters and 2D/CG props, and update audio/pickups and video/visuals throughout the process as needed
  • Work closely with Scene Build Supervisor to follow episodic briefs and ensure creative / technical standards are adhered to
  • Work closely with Supervisor and Production to ensure quotas and deadlines are met
  • Check assets are linked correctly on Shotgrid to ensure pipeline tools work as intended
  • Ensure correct assets are in scene and positioned / scaled accordingly
  • Proactively flag and troubleshoot any potential technical or asset related issues or concerns to Supervisor as they arise
  • Incorporate feedback effectively and check work at all stages before submitting for review to ensure minimal retakes
  • Keep files clean, tidy and organised to ensure scenes that are handed over to animation adhere to all technical and creative requirements and are fit for purpose
  • Work closely with Production to ensure smooth and timely delivery to other departments.

The role is based at our North-London Studio in the UK/England and requires to work on location.
