Job Description

Anachronaut Productions is an independent animation studio, focusing on hybrid animation, founded in 2023. We currently are producing our first short film, Submersed. We are a fully remote studio, but are based in the United States.

We are looking for a freelance 3D animator with experience in crowd animation, specifically in MASH (Maya) or Houdini. This is a short term contract, only between 1-2 months. This is an entry level position, and we welcome anyone to apply.

Responsibilities

• Commit to deliverables and manage your goals within regular deadlines, while maintaining the appropriate style over the course of a project.
• Willing to present work to a team, seek input, and incorporate feedback from leads.
• Be able to post regular updates to the team and leads

Requirements

• A website or portfolio that showcases skill in crowd animation, in either MASH or Houdini
• Previous experience in crowd animation that has creatures is a bonus
• Access to Maya or Houdini is required

Additional

This is a short contract between 1-2 months.

Availability

We are a fully remote studio, based in the USA. However, you are able to work on your own time, and submit by specific dates. All animation leads are based in Europe. We do not require a set amount of hours or dates per week.

Compensation

Since we are are a small, independent studio, and are funded fully through Kickstarter and Patreon, the salaries of animators are based on how many shots they take per month. As such, the range of payment varies. Below is the range of minimum, from a single shot to several shots taken per month in a range.

2D FX: $500 USD – $1400 USD / MO
