Job Description

Remote 2D Background Artists wanted at Smile Studios for a gritty animated trailer and cutscenes for an upcoming exciting horror/fantasy videogame. May include both background and character work so versatility is desired.

Work from home/remote.

While this particular job is short-term (until March), we constantly collaborate with freelance artists and animators on a per-project basis – if you have the right skills and would like to receive new interesting offers, let’s work together!

Remote 2D Background Artist Requirements:

* Proven experience in comic book style illustration (realistic, serious/non-cartoony, particularly use of sharp black Mike Mignola-esque shadows)
* Proficiency in Photoshop
* Strong artistic skills showing proper use of perspective, color, anatomy, references
* An eye for cinematic composition
* Preferred prior experience in BG work for animation
* Love for mature fantasy horror a huge plus
* Availability until early March 2023
