3D Generalist

The Azure Quantum team is redefining what is possible with technology—creating unprecedented possibilities to solve humanity’s most complex challenges. Our team combines hardware innovation with software technologies and Azure services to build a scalable quantum computer in an industry-leading quantum ecosystem.

We are looking for a 3D Generalist to join the team. In this role, you will bring technology to life by blending creativity with technical expertise. You’ll be part of a design team, creating outstanding visual content to drive and align to strategic messaging and corporate brand guidelines. Our team drives design projects for executive communications—creating compelling, digestible visual storytelling solutions out of highly technical data.

This role is a W2 contract through Nayamode Consulting. The contract is approved through June 2025 and likely will be extended further. Pay is negotiable for the right candidate, between $65-90/hr. This is an onsite contract, and you will be required to be in Redmond approximately four days/week.

Technical Skills:

  • Modeling and Texturing: Proficiency in advanced 3D modeling and texturing techniques for VFX and animation.
  • Software Expertise: Familiarity with software such as C4D + Redshift, Photoshop, After Effects, Substance Suite, and Unreal Engine 5.
  • Compositing: Understanding of compositing multi-pass rendering and color space management.
  • Animation: Experience in 3D, mograph, and infographic animation.
  • Camera and Lighting: Proficiency in 3D camera animation, basic lighting, and scene layout.

Responsibilities:

  • Support cross-platform 3D pipeline, working with Cinema 4D, Maya, Davinci Resolve, and After Effects.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with Art Directors, Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers.
  • Animate: Creating dynamic hard surface animations, art-directed particle simulation, and expression driven 3D/ 2D scenes.
  • Innovation: Proposing innovative solutions to visual challenges.
  • Communication Bridge: Facilitating communication between art, design, and engineering teams.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Animation, Design, Fine Arts, or related fields, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience in CG techniques (modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, look development, or compositing). Experience in feature film, advertisement/product visualization, and shipped game development are valuable.
