Since I was a child, I always had some fascination about animation. It started when I watched my first Pixar films and Anime. I would watch the behind the scenes footages of my favourites shows, films and even video games.
Out of my deep interest in animation, I first went to the art highschool Lycée des Arts et Métiers in Luxembourg and after that, I graduated at the media arts academy PIXL VISN in Germany, where I studied 3D animation and visual effects even further for 18 months. In this time, I had great experiences learning the basics, like the 12 principles of animation, and even advanced techniques like lip syncing and animating quadrupeds, all under the supervision of Jonathan Symmonds.
During that time, I gained knowledge besides on how to model, texture, rig, shade and render characters and props and even doing some compositing. Some of my teacher’s include James Schauf, Fred Durand and Peter Gend.
At PIXL VISN, I also learned how to handle my work under pressure, as we had very little free time and vacation during our studies. The school did try to emulate a crunch phase, especially during our mid- and end-term, where we got only a week time to create a whole project, fitting a special theme, out of nothing and had to present it to the class afterwards.
In my free time, I still enjoy watching animation films and shows, sometimes doing some drawings or learning a language and playing RPG-based video games, such as Final Fantasy and the Tales of series. At the moment, I additionally take an online course at the website animdojo.com to improve my work and techinques.
