Dog Ears is an award-winning creative studio based in Derry in the North of Ireland. We create content for kids and bring our stories and characters to life across media and platforms worldwide.

The Job Details:
We are looking for a Technical Director to come and work with us on our exciting new Series.
As a Technical Director you will be joining for a brand new Toon Boom Harmony pipeline that will have many challenges with the initial set up

Key responsibilities:

– Responsible for the overall Toon Boom Harmony pipeline development
– Working closely with the pipeline Supervisor
– Translate the creative vision of the show so its achievable within the software
– Accountable for day to day pipeline and workflow performance
– Work on the technical and creative implementation within Toon Boom pipeline
– Work closely with the department heads and production personnel to help overcome technical difficulties on the production
– Implement the development and integration of tools that align all software used in the production

This list is not exhaustive and might be complemented by reasonable and related tasks that are requested of you.

Key requirements:

– 5+ years of production experience
– 1+ years of experience as a 2D Technical Director
– Thorough knowledge of computer animation
– Ability to manage time according to current priorities in an efficient manner
– Ability to work in a self-directed manner
– Expert knowledge in Toon Boom Harmony
– Knowledge in Python is a bonus
– A good understanding of production-wide workflows and handover processes
– Ability to problem solve independently
– Ability to work fast and efficiently applying industry standard techniques
– Ability to communicate well with directors and supervisors
– Shotgun knowledge is important
– English a requirement
– Must be willing to relocate to Derry, Northern Ireland
