Senior 2D Character Animator 

Are you an experienced character animator looking for adventure and a chance to further develop your skills? Does living working and living in Dubai sound appealing to you? Dicesol Animation is a brand-new animation studio located in Dubai, and we are looking for a passionate senior 2D animator who has a high level of experience in character animation in the style of cut-out animation. Our studio will primarily focus on 2D narrative films and therefore a strong sense for storytelling through camera movement, body language, facial expressions, and naturalistic movements will be required.  Tasks will mainly involve cut-out animation in Adobe After Effects or other animation software with the occasional implementation of frame by frame when necessary. You will have plenty of room to develop your skills and take ownership for the final product as our team will be around five members to begin with. Here you will be given the freedom to use your talents and passion to add your own personal touch to each film. We need someone who won’t quit until they are proud of their product. Someone willing to take ownership to ensure that the final product is exceptional. Someone who has a desire to be along in creating some compelling and inspiring animation films.

​Responsibilities ​​

• Animate 2D illustrated characters (dialogue, character rigging, character animation)
• Aid creative director in choosing animation styles and techniques
• Animate camera movements in a cinematic style
• Translate storyboards and animatics into animation
• Complete tasks in a timely manner
• Follow instructions and style guidelines
• Work as a team with other illustrators and animators
• Contribute positively to the overall quality of the animation with constructive criticism and innovative ideas

Requirements

• Highly experienced in 2D character animation (tweening, character rigging etc.)
• Highly experienced in Adobe After Effects or other animation software
• Solid understanding of Ps, Ai or other illustration software
• Highly knowledgeable in various animation techniques and effects, able to creatively solve software-based challenges
• Some skills in cel animation
• Some digital illustration abilities
• Good understanding of human anatomy
• Proven experience as an animator, 3+ years (recommendation from previous employers and/or freelancing profile)
• Showreel/portfolio demonstrating your style and abilities. Please attach your showreel/portfolio to your application
• High level of technical skill, able to solve problems related to animation software
• Ability to animate characters in a realistic yet stylized way
• Comfortable working with deadlines
• Teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to take ownership of given tasks and work independently
• Organizational skills, it should be possible for anyone to take over a project file and understand its structure at anytime

An exceptional candidate could also have:

• Excellent understanding of cel animation
• Excellent drawing abilities
• Highly skilled in texturing in 2D animation software
• Background in film/photography: good understanding of cameras, cinematography, and composition
