Motion Designer 

Are you an experienced motion designer looking for adventure and a chance to further develop your skills? Does living working and living in Dubai sound appealing to you? Dicesol Animation is a brand-new animation studio located in Dubai, and we are looking for a passionate motion designer who is skilled in technical solutions with a large amount of knowledge in animation techniques and software. A perfect candidate is somebody who is passionate about learning new techniques and understanding the ins and outs of animation. Tasks will mainly involve 2D character animation in Adobe After Effects.  A high set of 3D software skills will also be required for building/texturing 3D sets and compositing 2D illustrations with 3D models. You will have plenty of room to develop your skills and take ownership for the final product as our team will be around five members to begin with. Here you will be given the freedom to use your talents and passion to add your own personal touch to each film. We need someone who won’t quit until they are proud of their product. Someone willing to take ownership to ensure that the final product is exceptional. Someone who has a desire to be along in creating some compelling and inspiring animation films.

Who is Dicesol Animation? 

We are a brand-new animation studio based in Dubai looking to make our mark in the world of animation. We don’t just want to make good animations; we want to make the best animations. ​Responsibilities ​​ 

• Animate 2D illustrated characters and backgrounds 
• Translate storyboards and animatics into animation 
• Aid creative director in choosing animation techniques and workflows   
• Animate camera movements in a cinematic style 
• Build and composite 3D models with 2D illustrations   

• Complete tasks in a timely manner  
• Follow instructions and style guidelines  
• Contribute positively to the overall quality of the animation with constructive criticism and innovative ideas 

Requirements 

• Proven experience as an animator 3+ years (recommendation from previous employers and/or freelancing profile) 
• Showreel/portfolio demonstrating your style and abilities. Please attach your showreel/portfolio to your application 
• Highly experienced in 2D character animation (tweening, character rigs etc.) 
• Capable 3D animation/modelling  
• Highly skilled in animation software (Ae, Blender, 3ds Max, etc.) 

• High level of technical skill, able to solve problems related to animation software 
• High level of knowledge of animation techniques and effects, able to creatively solve software-based challenges  
• Good understanding of cameras, cinematography, and composition 
• Ability to translate a storyboard or animatic to an animation  
• Ability to animate characters in a realistic yet stylized way  

• Strong organizational skills, it should be possible for anyone to take over a project file and understand its structure 
• Ability to work well with others, strong teamworking skills 
• Passionate about animation and film, willing to go the extra mile to make an amazing product 
• Comfortable working with deadlines and budget restrictions 
• Teamwork and excellent communication skills 

• Animate using effective storytelling skills, through knowledge of camera angles and framing shots 
• Preferably background in film 
• Ability to take ownership of a project and work independently  

An exceptional candidate could also have: 

• High amount of experience within character rigging 
• Highly skilled in texturing in both 3D and 2D animation software 
• Skills within Ae script writing  
• Experience within pipeline management
