Full-Time Motion Designer

Job Description

Distant Future is an award winning animation studio, established in 2011. Our team works on creative animation projects for agencies, manufacturers and institutions, as well as projects for household names such as Ministry of Sound, BBC, Lloyds Banking Group, Very, and House of Fraser.

As part of the studio’s growth and expansion we are looking for an experienced Motion Designer to join the production team. This new post will work direct with clients and our production team to design and develop a wide variety of animated content for a diverse range of clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with our production team on all areas of the production process, including storyboards, script writing, visual design, animation and post production.
• Create concepts that push our creativity, satisfy client requirements, and work within set production budgets.
• Introduce new techniques and tools to the production team, constantly expanding what we do.
• Talking to our clients, guiding them through our production process, receiving and implementing feedback, and ensuring the whole process is smooth, successful and enjoyable for everyone concerned.
• Work as a Project Lead, setting production schedules, delegating tasks to our production team, making sure client expectations and deadlines are met and ensuring all creative goals are reached.
• Work as part of a team, working with another person in the Project Lead role.
• Take part in project evaluation sessions to identify learning opportunities for the studio and suggest ways of implementing new strategies or methods.
• Produce all kinds of animation including 2D and 3D motion graphics, kinetic typography, character animation.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years professional experience in motion design or motion graphics, although if you have an outstanding reel, we will consider people with less experience, including recent graduates.
• Exceptional animation and design skills and a reel that showcases outstanding quality in a wide range of project types.
• Ability to excel in visual design, motion design, character work, and typography in 2D and 3D animation.
• Excellent communication skills, confidence talking face to face with new and current clients.
• An appreciation of good customer service and a desire to deliver it on every project.
• Ability to prioritize one’s own tasks and be responsive to deadlines.
• Prior experience working within a professional production team.
• Experience coordinating creative projects.
• Impeccable organisation and time-management skills.
• Strong proficiency in After Effects and other production tools.
• A passion for design and animation.
• A strong desire to keep developing your own artistic and technical skills and use them to help drive the studio forwards.
• Excited to learn new software and techniques to help deliver other projects such as architectural visualisation, product animation and visual effects.
• Live close enough to work in our studio.

Salary: £22,000.00-£28,000.00 per year depending on experience.
