Full-Time Modeller (Environments)
The position of Modeller requires someone with several years of experience in a similar role working on broadcast or film projects.
Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to work collaboratively with multiple tasks in a fast paced production and have an excellent technical understanding of Maya’s modelling tools.
Key Areas of responsibilities:
*Creation of set, prop and set dressing models on an asset level.
*A good understanding of the overall 3d asset creation pipeline and workflow.
*Deliver clean models with tidy polygon loops and placement.
*Sculpting skills for both hard surface and organic modelling.
*Creation of blendshapes.
*Create previz models that can fine-tuned by the modelling department.
*Create good basic uv layouts for the texture department.
*Set dressing and instancing required as a part of the set modelling task.
*Work within the Production Design team to develop the key environment and prop designs and layout for the project.
*Works with the Art Director(s) to bring these concepts and/or layouts to an approved stage so that they can be fed to the downstream CG department.
*Maintaining the project’s style and design to the expected standard and within schedule.
*Work closely with the Art Director(s) and other members of the Production Design team.
*3-4 years’ industry experience in a similar role.
*Software required: Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop. Speedtree a bonus.
*Strong low and high poly modelling skills.
*Strong uv editor knowledge.
*Strong understanding of the previz to modelling workflow.
*Experience in a sculpting package. Zbrush a preference.
*Good communication skills and open to direction.
*A keen eye for architecture, design and composition.
*Must be able to communicate in an articulate and positive manner.
*Must take direction well.
*Task driven and proactive.
