LAYOUT/BACKGROUND DESIGNER – JOB SPECIFICATION (LEAD LAYOUT EXPERIENCE WOULD BE PREFERRED)

Location: Altrincham, Manchester (UK) OR REMOTE

Job Title: Layout/Location Designer

Job Type: Fixed term Contract

Start date: ASAP (4-5 month duration initially)

Surfing Giant Europe is looking for an experienced Layout/Location Designer to join our talented team to work on a high-profile Disney Junior Series, “Hey A.J”, which will be appearing on the Disney Jr. Channel and Disney+.

The successful Layout/Location Designer candidate will: 

• Have previous experience of working on high profile animated series in a similar role for a minimum of 2 years.
• Lead layout experience would be a huge advantage to assist the Supervisor when required.
• Have a great sense of perspective, composition, and colour.
• To create location designs and layouts from the script and the animatic for production.
• Be willing to take on constructive feedback.
• Have excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and good organisation skills.
• Proficient software understating in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
• Familiarity with Toon Harmony software.
• Report to the Layout Design Supervisor & Art Director.
