Hello!
We are Element Animation, an animation team from England and we
make animated videos online for millions of people to watch!
We’re looking for a Layout Artist for a new project to join our team and help us create content for people all around the world!

Position: Layout Artist (Freelance, Remote)
Duration: Approx 15 Weeks

Job Description:
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Working under a Layout Supervisor and a Director
• Interpreting and conceptualising the film script and story boards according The Director / Layout Supervisors instructions
• Responding positively and act up-on notes, draw-overs, feedback and ideas from The Director / Layout Supervisor
• Creating scenes and shots by placing characters, props and environments according to storyboards/pre-vis and Director instruction
• Defining camera angles and animating them
• Defining the perspective of the scene
• Ensuring continuity between shots and scenes
• Managing your own time efficiently to meet the requirements and deadlines of your assignments
• Communicating effectively with your Director and Layout supervisor to achieve a high quality end result

Requirements:

• Advanced understanding of composition and virtual camera techniques
• Previous experience working on a production level project as a Layout Artist
• Provide a reel showcasing past projects, highlighting your role in each project
• Knowledge of the basic principles of animation
• Excellent working knowledge and understanding of Autodesk Maya
• Ability to complete a test shot to highlight and showcase your skills
• Ability to understand and adapt to our studios pipeline and tools
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently under time constraints
• Be reliable with good time-keeping skills
• Attention to detail
• Problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate remotely with our team via Slack
• Be a team player who can thrive in a team dynamic
• Be open to direction and able to embrace change
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Access to your own Autodesk Maya animation software and any computers or equipment required to fulfil your roll
