Full-Time CG Supervisor (Character Assets)
Jellyfish Pictures are looking for a CG Supervisor (Character Assets) to join our expanding team. We are delighted to be partnering with a major US studio on an Animation Feature Film and are excited to offer an opportunity for creative individuals to join our team.
The role is suited to a well rounded 3D Generalist / CG Supervisor with previous experience in a similar role. As Asset Supervisor you will be responsible for the aesthetic and technical quality of all assets across a project including modelling, surfacing, rigging and groom.
We are now a multi award-winning animation production company employing approximately 200 members of staff across multiple studios in the UK and are as dedicated as ever to creating stunning moving pictures. Over the last 2 decades we have built a brilliant creative team, an expert production service and a pioneering technical pipeline.
Start date: 19th August 2019
Contract length: 8 months, with possible extension
Location: Brixton (London)
Type of contract: Fixed Term, PAYE
Present work to VFX supervisor and Head of Modelling.
Participate in character design and development with client.
Client facing and team leadership
Work with production and asset leads to manage the day to day running of the team.
Awareness of key project assumptions, budget and schedule across the asset department.
Work with production to evaluate artists schedules, flagging any concerns.
Attend dailies sessions with the team to give approval and feedback.
Strong understanding of lighting/shading/texturing principles and the whole animation pipeline principles and techniques
Quality Checking across all asset department.
Problem solving day to day issues as they arise with VFX Supervisor and Head of Modelling.
Excellent knowledge of Maya, Shotgun and Redshift. Knowledge of Arnold, Houdini and Vray is a plus
A familiarity with pipeline issues and scripting languages: python, hscript or mel
Experience with Nuke and a solid understanding of the compositing process
Strong communication skills are critical. Must be able to work within a team, taking direction and exercising attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment
Ensure that all work carried out on the show fits within Jellyfish’s Pipeline structure and naming conventions.

This is a client facing role. The candidate should have experience of asset leadership and a strong knowedge of 3D software and Pipeline. An ability to delegate and excellent problem solving skills is a must.
