Full-Time Blender Artist

Job Description

Distant Future is an award winning animation studio, established in 2011. Our team works on creative animation projects for agencies, manufacturers and institutions, as well as projects for household names such as Ministry of Sound, BBC, Lloyds Banking Group, Very, and House of Fraser.

As part of the studio’s growth and expansion we are moving from Maya to Blender for our 3D production work. We are looking for an experienced Blender Artist to join the production team. This new post will work direct with clients and our production team to design and develop a wide variety of animated content for a diverse range of clients.

START DATE: Monday 3rd May

• Overseeing and completing client projects in Blender, and supporting our team with their Blender learning.
• Work with our production team on different areas including ideas and concepts to fit a brief, storyboards and all aspects of 3D production.
• Introduce new techniques and tools to the production team, constantly expanding what we do.
• Work as a Project Lead, setting production schedules, delegating tasks to our production team, making sure client expectations and deadlines are met and ensuring all creative goals are reached.
• Talking to our clients, guiding them through our production process, receiving and implementing feedback, and ensuring the whole process is smooth, successful and enjoyable for everyone concerned.
• Work as part of a team on other projects with another person in the Project Lead role.
• Take part in project evaluation sessions to identify learning opportunities for the studio and suggest ways of implementing new strategies or methods.

• Exceptional skills in Blender that cover the whole 3D production process.
• Working knowledge of Blender’s capabilities outside of 3D production.
• Up-to-date knowledge of Blender’s new features.
• A reel that demonstrates professional-level work across different styles and project types.
• Excellent communication skills
• An appreciation of good customer service and a desire to deliver it on every project.
• The ability to prioritize one’s own tasks and be responsive to deadlines.
• Prior experience working within a professional production team.
• Experience coordinating creative projects.
• Impeccable organisation and time-management skills.

Salary: £22,000.00-£28,000.00 per year

    You should live in west Yorkshire as from around September, we are hoping to bring everyone back into the studio, so please do not apply if you aren’t able to commute in.
