Temporary Animation Course Content Developers – Independent Contractor, Temporary
***Immediate need for talented Animation course content developers to create innovative & inspirational online courses for a growing college. Candidates may be located anywhere in the US
Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design seeks experienced subject matter experts to create 2D Animation course curriculum for our online program. These are temporary independent contractor positions. Must be able to start upon hire and complete project within 10-12 week timeframe.
We are seeking course content developers for these online courses:
Animation Layout + Production Design (requires experience creating layout and production designs for animation or film and Photoshop)
2D Computer Animation I (requires experience with Character Animation, Technical Animation, Performance, Dialog, Toon Boom Harmony)
2D + Z (requires experience with Toon Boom Harmony, Autodesk Maya)
Advanced Character Animation + Motion Studies (requires experience with Character Animation, Performance, Dialog, Toon Boom Harmony)
2D Computer Animation II (requires experience with Character Animation, Technical Animation, Performance, Dialog, Toon Boom Harmony)
Create assignments, lecture/presentation content, and assessments, and rubrics in support of pre-defined course learning objectives. Select reading and media materials to enhance student learning. Include images and video that support the learning outcomes. Develop weekly discussions pertaining to learning outcomes.
Work collaboratively with Instructional Designer who serves as project manager and other personnel
Create demo videos using Harmony or similar software
Submit high-quality weekly deliverables, revise as requested
Participate in brief weekly or bi-weekly status and collaboration meetings (through Skype or similar product)
Ensure quality and schedule requirements are met
Ensure curriculum is original (does not violate intellectual property or copyright law)
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Animation preferred
3-5 years professional experience animating characters in a digital or traditional environment
Online curriculum development and teaching experience preferred but not required
Experience working within schedule deadlines
Excellent character animation skills
Thorough understanding of Toon Boom Harmony Software (must have your own license)
Ability to write clear directions
Ability to demonstrate processes and record hands-on animation techniques (Harmony)
Research, analysis, synthesis
Excellent written communication skills, verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate remotely
Highly proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint), Google Drive/Docs
Attention to detail. Excellent writing, editing, grammar, spelling, and document formatting.
Strong technical capabilities using computer hardware and software
Able to work collaboratively and communicate diplomatically with a variety of people
Able to work efficiently within schedule and budget parameters
This position may make recommendations on operating procedures. Independent judgment is required when developing content, managing time, and working with team members to ensure project targets are met.
