Vanessa Oliveira

My name is Vanessa Oliveira and I am a recent graduate from Arts University Bournemouth with a BA in Visual Effects. I initially started my degree at UCA Farnham in Animation but transferred after two years to Bournemouth to shift my focus towards Visual Effects, which has given me valuable experience in both areas of creative media. During my time at Bournemouth, I became extremely passionate about learning technical skills; both 2D and 3D elements and learning how to merge them to suit the client and the brief.
I have been working as a freelancer for 2 years, which began during the summer university breaks, but since graduating I ´ve transitioned to freelancing full time. I now mainly work with a company called Filmbright creating motion graphics animations for online courses for a variety of clients. This has given me the opportunity to work with different global clients such as LBS, LCC, UOL, GEO and University of Michigan.
I’m at my most comfortable within Adobe After Effects, as well as having a strong working knowledge of multiple Red Giant plugins such as: Trapcode particular, Trapcode Mir and Trapcode Tao. Within 3D, I have 3 years of experience in 3D modelling and animating within Autodesk Maya.
In addition to Maya, I have recently been learning Cinema 4D due to the ways it can integrate more effectively with After Effects, allowing the 3D motion graphics aesthetic to be achieved more efficiently than with Maya.
